AI-Governance; The Future of IT
by Lance Winslow
Information technologies of the future will include artificially intelligent governance. That does not mean there will not be a human go-between interface to stand up at a podium and promise you the world. Human societies and civilizations are very much use to that and so it probably will not change for a good 50-years. We are always told by some podium pusher that they will fix some aspect of our civilization which has gone wrong by making a law.
Rarely does making a law fix the problem and very rarely can a politician ever make a difference, but somehow it makes us feel better if someone gets up and says these things and repeats back to us what we are already thinking. The sound and fury of human politics are interesting to say the least and fascinating to study from a social science perspective.
If artificially intelligent computers are running our electronic government systems and every interaction you do with the government is on the Internet or voice activated technologies then the system will run more efficiently, but there will be issues.
After all, most people do not like it when they call up a corporation such as a credit card company or their cellular phone company and all they get is a computer on the other line telling them to press one or two. Then going through information that they probably already had figured out before they made the call. These pre-recorded systems really piss people off. I hate to break it to you but in the future we will have more of this not less.
Before you get upset at the idea of artificial intelligent governance of our government, consider if you will the tax savings that will be given back. Maybe then government will become more efficient and less wasteful. I certainly hope this article is of interest and that is has propelled thought. The goal is simple; to help you in your quest to be the best in 2007. I thank you for reading my many articles on diverse subjects, which interest you.
