Nokia E61 Mobile Phone Review by Mark Hirst
The unusual looking Nokia E61 is a mobile phone that has been designed specifically with business users who want access to their documents anywhere in the world in mind. The phone has a large screen, full QWERTY keyboard, and is 3G compatible to make it easier to connect through the internet and receive emails anywhere.
The Nokia E61 comes with a full suite of productivity software to enable owners to access Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint documents anywhere, as well as syncing the phone with their email accounts and having emails pushed through to the phone anywhere.
It is Java compatible to allow for applications to run on it, and includes a number of simple games to keep you entertained. One of the best applications of the phone is its ability to connect with most Mobile TV standards to allow you to watch shows on the go, which is really handy on a long journey - although this will severely impact the amount of battery life that the phone can offer.
AS with any 3G Phone, the video calling option is included with the phone, and the picture quality is excellent during calls, although in low light the inbuilt camera can struggle a little to pick up a good image.
The phone comes complete with a hands free kit, and supports voice dialling, so you can make and receive calls on the go without any problems. It has a large inbuilt memory of 64MB which can be expanded using a Micro SD card in order to support plenty of music and videos to play through the built in media player system.
As with any Smart phone, the Nokia E61 is a little bulky compared to the latest consumer handsets, although it compares well in terms of thickness with many other models, and is comfortable enough in use, although it can be a ;little heavy when you are carrying it around with you.
The phone supports all the main messaging standards such as SMS, MMS, and is Bluetooth enabled to make it simple to use the Nokia E61 in conjunction with your PC or any other devices, or to transfer information from one suitable phone to another.
The E61 is aimed firmly at the business market, and is an unapologetic smart phone with too many features for conventional users to either want, or need, but in terms of what it is aimed at, it is one of the best options available, and well worth considering.
