Motorola Cellular Phone Razr V3xx - New and Improved - Yet Still Sleak and Slim by Angela Tomlinson

One in a long line of the V3 series, the Motoroola Cellular Phone Razr V3xx improves on its predecessors with the addition of Opera Web browser, HSDPA support and stereo Bluetooth. Slightly bigger in the design from the original, but still slim and light, the phone comes in various color choices from gray to gold (the new Platinum version from AT&T has also just been released). With the same clamshell shape, the external display is on the small side, but the 64k-color display is a huge improvement.

Specifications:

Dimensions: Height 4.1" x Width 2.1" x Depth 0.6"Weight: 3.6 ozMode: GSM 900/1800/1900 UMTS 2100Display: 262,000 color TFT, 240 x 320 Wireless interface: Bluetooth (A2DP)Talk time: max 3 hours Network carrier: CingularThe internal display on the Motorola Cellular Phone Razr V3xx is impressive, 262,000 colors, and a 2.25" screen gives you a large view, sharp text and bright images. With a now familiar Razr navigation system, the V3xx keypad has a five-way navigation toggle, backlight, and plenty of shortcut options. You will also find dedicated buttons for Cingular Video and the web browser. Standard Razr features include a 1000 contact phone book, calendar and calculator, voice recorder, vibrating mode and SMS as well as multimedia messaging. The Motorola Cellular Phone Razr V3xx has a built in speakerphone for hands-free talk, and voice activated dialing.

A major improvement for the Razr is the Bluetooth Wireless Technology. Connecting up to a Bluetooth wireless headset gives you freedom to communicate on the move, and you can hook up a stereo headset for listening to music. Connection via the Cingular HSDPA network offers high speed internet and email access, and using the Opera Web browser is relatively pleasant, despite some restrictions.

The Motorola Cellular Phone Razr V3xx has an upgraded camera, with 1.3 megapixels but despite the upgrade, the flash feature is still missing. You do get an 8x zoom though and a self-timer though. The camera also allows you to shoot video clips with sound, and editing options.

For music lovers, the device includes a digital MP3 player, and enables users to download tunes from Cingular Music. In addition, Cingular Video offers streaming video clips from various TV channels including VH1, CNN and Comedy Central.

There are a few minus points other than those already mentioned. Security certificates implemented by Cingular mean that 3rd party programs such as Google Maps and GMail need to be approved constantly. The phone will not allow full MP3s to be used as ringtones, and the extra camera (previously included in the Motorola Cellular Phone Razr V3x) is no longer there.

Overall, this Motorola Cellular Phone V3xx Razr is a great improvement, with a strong signal, excellent internal display and most of the day-to-day functions needed by the average user.
