Nokia E65 - Talk E Class! by Alice Erin
The latest addition to the Nokia's genre of business class E-series, the Nokia E65 is reserved for the polish user class. True the device is not exclusive in terms of looks, but this quad band slider comes with the power of 3G and Wi-Fi. The compact size of the phone does not provide room to accommodate a full QWERTY keypad, but nonetheless it can aptly fulfil the requirements of reading office documents, and checking emails.
In terms of design, the Nokia E65 comes with a spring loaded slider mechanism, and has a soft leather like back to add style and class. The 2.2 inches screen is loaded with a 240 x 320-pixel, with the competency to display 16 million colours. This means the pictures and videos come out more clear, and pleasure is also experienced while reading. Viewing is also easy under the direct sunlight. To add more life and excitement, the Nokia E65 comes an ambient light sensor. It glows automatically when moving into a dim environment. On sliding the handset, it reveals a 3-4 keypad array. The keypad is quite user friendly and responsive.
Over the rear is where the 2 Megapixels camera is located. The camera is enabled with night and sequence mode, a self timer, and adjustments for white balance and colour tones. The lack of flash and auto focus does make the photo quality a little average, still, good enough for snapshots and web display purposes. Moreover, the 50 MB of expandable memory enables the users to store more pictures.
Nokia E65 is indeed a multimedia goodie bag. It not only has a music player (Mp3/ AAC compatible) but also includes a Real Player, that can play Mp4 files. There is also a Flash application and Gallery where one can browse through all media files with the help of a tabbed interface. More for multimedia benefits, one can download a host of features from Nokia Catalogue. This includes Digitizer, F-Secure Mobile Anti-Virus, Psiloc Wireless Presenter and Wayfinder Navigator.
Nokia E65 comes with a Series 60 3rd edition operating system. It also includes various business and collaborative software as Quickoffice and Team Suite preinstalled. Connectivity wise the Nokia E65 is empowered with quadband GSM (800/900/1,800/1,900MHz), 3G, Wi-Fi (802.11b/g with VoIP support), infrared and Bluetooth 1.2. The handset also doubles as a modem when connected with a compatible computer.
